1.   If we are interested in this award, how can we tell if we are qualified to apply?
A:  If your company is interested in applying for the ELMA2013 award, your company needs to have the following qualifications:
•  Has a legal entity in Thailand and registered with Ministry of Commerce, with the main office in Thailand.
•  Engage in the following business
-  Manufacturer/ importer/ exporter of agricultural or agro products, food, drugs/ pharmaceutical and manufactured products
-  Logistics service providers to support the importing or exporting sectors of Thailand.  These include transportation service/ transport via road, rail, air and water; warehousing services, and logistics services, e.g. 3 PL.




2.  What are the expenses of participating in this?
A:  There are no expenses in participating in this program.  The project is funded by the Ministry of Commerce, another attempt by the Office of Service Trade and Trade Logistics, Department of International Trade Promotion to promote, support and encourage Thai enterprises to upgrade their logistics operations.





3.  What do we receive if we win the award?  
A:  Besides being recognized as one of the award winners and having your company name in local and overseas media, you will also receive other indirect benefits.  This includes the Feedback Report as the company assessment by qualified judges.  This experience is invaluable in keeping the company on track with quality improvement.  The company can also use the ELMA logo in all company communication and promotion to raise confidence among current and potential customers.

One main benefit for award winners in LSP category is that you will automatically receive the Prime Minister’s Export Award (PM Award) for this year.




4.   If we apply and do not win this year, can we apply again next year?  
A:  Yes, you may apply again next year.  There is no limitation on that.




5.   If we win this year, can we apply again next year?
A: Yes, you may also apply again next year.  There is no limitation on that either.




6.   How many awards are there every year?  
A:  The awards are given out to two groups of companies:
A.  Exporter/ Manufacturer/ Importer and Inter-Trader 
  - of agricultural and agro products, food, drug/ pharmaceutical products
  - Manufactured goods
B.  Logistics Service Providers 
      - transport/ transportation services via road, rail, air and water
      - warehousing, 
      - Logistics services e.g. 3PL, etc.
In all these five groups (A1, A2, B1, B2 and B3), there are two categories each- one for small and one for large enterprises.
For Group A: Small enterprises are defined by the registered capital of 200 mil. bt. or lower, while the Large enterprises with registered capital of over 200 mil. bt.
For  Group B, or the service providers, Small enterprises are companies with registered capital of equal to or lower than 20 mil. bt., while the Large enterprises are those of higher than 20 mil. bt. registered capital.




7.  If we are 4PL, are we qualified for this contest?  
A:   Yes, you are. Both 3PL and 4PL are qualified.






8.   How are award winners selected?
A:  A company will be judged based on three steps:
•  Organization Report prepared by the company
•  Presentation 30 min. by the company to the judge panel
These two reports are to follow the framework described in the Application Manual.
Once the company passes these two steps with a score of 80 or higher, they will undergo the third and last step
•  Company Site Visit




9.   Is there any time-table to apply?  Can we apply all year round?
A:   ELMA is a yearly award given out at the Thailand International Logistics Fair (TILOG) to be held in September each year.  ELMA2013 is the 7th edition and to be given out at TILOG2013 held between September 3-7, 2013 at the BITEC.  Normally, competition process takes place between May to July each year.  This year deadline for application submission is July 19, 2013.





10.    How do you promote the awards?
A:   The winning companies will have their names appear in all ELMA2013 promotion and PR campaign during and after.





11.   How do I sign up to be on your mailing list, so we get all promotion materials on this award?

12.   Do we need to return the award?
A:   No, you may keep the award.
