Quotes from Previous Winners ELMA 2012

K. Wichian Chong-a-phiromsakul, Managing Director of Berli Jucker Logistics Co., Ltd. ELMA2012 Award Winner in LSP: 3PL

“I heard about this award for quite some time now, and always felt that those who won must be proud.  They must give them confidence that not only they tell themselves that their operation has quality, but outside panelists also say the same thing.  And the award use international quality standards to measure.  The competing companies must credentials, performance to show, and all the staffs must try harder for higher quality service and operations.  If we win, we can tell the world that we are also good.

We did not take long to prepare reports, as our documents are quite available.  We have experience in writing what we do and doing what we write.  So, this helps.

We strongly encourage companies to hurry and apply.  You’d learn from the criteria required by the Award, who are good basis to run operations anyway to grow business and keep the growth sustainable.  We need to continually adjust and adapt.  The lowest cost is not always the best route to success.  We can share experience, knowledge.  We can both compete and collaborate in the same arena, and be a part of making Thailand achieving its development goals.”

Mr. Chavalit Sriworawiang, Senior Director, Operations Thailand & IndoChinaELMA2012 Award Winner in LSP: Transport- Road, Rail, Air and Water

“ELMA is a quality brand.  It can be useful for our marketing- to assure consumers of our quality service.  It brings pride among our team, an outcome of our teamwork and our efficient system.  It boosts morale among our staffs and motivates them to work even harder.  To grow our market, we need to monitor our service quality that we are on track and that our customers will return to more service.”

Mr. Chaowanin Bandidkrisada, CEO, JWD Info Logistics Co., Ltd.ELMA2012 Award Winner in LSP: Warehouse

“This is the 4th ELMA Award that we participated.  The very qualified and experienced judges visited our operation and check if our quality system is up to international standards.  This has motivated the staff a great deal, and they have become quite competitive.  They are enthusiastic to come and present the work and we are quite proud of them that they have done a good job at this.

I want to encourage companies to compete in this competition.  Size does not matter.  You’ll gain experience, your staff will gain experience and can give more value to the team.  Your customers/ suppliers all are important part of the whole business process, which is very important.  You’d learn more and understand each part better after the process evaluation.  We highly appreciate the Ministry of Commerce for this project and their continuing support.  It really works for us.”

Mr. Prakit Worawannanond. Logistics Solution Design Manager, SCG Logistics Management Co., Ltd.ELMA2012 Award Winner in LSP: 3PL

“When we heard of the ELMA project, it was the last day of the application period. We decided to join and asked to submit the documents. We thought that the award should be helpful in our work. It was an impromptu decision, but our documents are quite available, so we could just collect and made the deadline. Now that we decided to participate, we had the driving force to see it through. It was not just the document report and the company presentation, the hardest part is the company visit. Even if we had not made it this year, we would learn of our blind sports, our weak points and areas for improvement. We have the determination to explore and improve.”

Mr. Chaiya Thepsunthon, Deputy Managing Director, Pioneer Air Cargo Co., Ltd.ELMA2012 Award Winner in LSP: 3PL

“How we are taking the steps forward, ELMA is one of the determining factors. ELMA let us know that our operation is not that shabby. We entered the competition, not knowing what to expect. If we didn’t win, we would not have been sorry. We would have learned a great deal from the their comments and advice, things we can use to improve our operation. We entered last year and didn’t make it to the winner list. This year we are back again, after some improvement and we have won this year.”

Mr. Chalermsak Karnchanawarin, Managing Director, Hazchem Logistics Management Co., Ltd.,
Winner of ELMA
2011 Award & ELMA2012 Award and 2013 Judge

“I believe that competition creates competitiveness.  We already compete every day in business, we all know the taste of competition. Entering the award contest is another form of competition to us.  The ELMA2011 award that we received, reflects that our business is at the industry fore front.  This is very important to us.  We recognize the government’s effort in pushing Thai companies to excel companies to move forward.  We are the Stars in the Logistics Area (just like TV singing competition) for a few years now.  To enter the world competition, we need to compete within our country, our region first and know where we stand.  This award gives us confidence to step out to enter the outside arena.”

Mr. Nattaphum Paoworarattana, Customer Service Manager,JWD Info Logistics Co., Ltd.
